Re: World's Most Powerful GPU - AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo 2x32GB Hashrates are in!!
If I had one of these beasts, I'd probably try to extract the maximum potential out of it (as the cooling system should keep it safe, unlike so many other Macs!). I'd probably mine Etheurum on all the GPUs and then maybe Monero on the CPUs. I ran across this little bit of info on this helpful site, ...

Re: Honeyminer not mining?
My hunch is that it is probably just too far out of date, and maybe code from back when GPU mining was directly possible under Mac OS. I wonder if you installed an old enough Mac OS, it might work? I think you'd have to go back several years, maybe to like Mac OS prior to Mojave (one or two versions...

Re: Fix: Honeyminer Not Downloading from Website
Last I checked, Honeyminer hadn't even updated their Mac software beyond the first few initial releases, like from several years ago! I think I'd personally avoid that one and go with one of the many others.

Re: Best Crypto Miner for Mac?
Cudo Miner works pretty well, at least in terms of simplicity. I like that it tries the various versions of the selected miner software (ie. TeamRedMiner, Phoenix, etc.) too find the one that gets the best output (highest hash-rate, lowest power consumption). Currently, the best on my setup (2018 mi...

Re: Cudo Miner for M1 ARM Mac's?
I've gotten the impression that several of these miner apps just want to *advertise* out to the widest possible audience, even if they don't work. (I suppose they hope Mac people install/run, even if it will only mine XMR on the CPU, or such?) When I started into this, I tried a number of apps which...

Re: macOS Installation: ethminer on M1 (ARM) Mac's (Crypto Miner Software)
Pretty much, if you want to mine Ethereum with a Mac, it means Bootcamp and Windows and getting the GPU properly detected/operational (if you're using an eGPU). If you're using an internal dedicated GPU, then just Bootcamp and Windows and it should work, but be careful about damaging your Mac if it ...

Re: NiceHash Earnings + Mac Pro 28-Core + AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo (Windows Boot Camp)
I'm pretty sure you'd have to use BootCamp/Windows. And, yes, those are impressive results if you have one. I'm not sure buying one would pay off (for mining), though at the peak I had calculated (if I did it correctly) that one could be paid off in a couple of years. But, that assumed the crypto-ma...

Re: Trying to CryptoMine on Parallels Desktop with Apple M1 MacBook Air! Will it work?
What we'll really need is for some Metal-based mining software. Apple *seems* to be headed down a path of their own GPUs, so I'm kind of doubting we'll see future support for AMD outside of the Mac Pro (until they transition that to Apple Silicon), and my understanding is Apple purposely didn't inte...

Re: ANNOUNCED: 24" M1 iMAC - Crypto Mining Video COMING SOON!
Yeah, it is the same chip, just different chassis/cooling. So, the results shouldn't be much different than the MBP (the MBA doesn't have a fan, so will be lower performance when pushed). I'm really excited about the future potential of the 'pro' Macs though. I've heard people talking that the antic...

Re: eGPU and Mac crypto mining
Oh, I should also note that I resisted re-trying Windows 10 1809 for a long time, as Microsoft isn't updating it any longer, and I was led to believe a number of things weren't going to run on it. But, to my surprise, the mining stuff all runs, Minecraft installs and runs (from the Windows store), e...
